Highest levels of Protection

Overt covers on our bullet proof vests are different from covert coverts due to material and designs only. The panels used are the same in each piece of body armour . Overt covers are made from hard long lasting durable materials such as Cordura, this helps protect against wear, tear, rips and cuts, providing the user with a long lasting quality product. It is vital to know how and when you plan on wearing a bullet proof vest, as overt covers are generally not as breathable and supple as their covert counterparts.

Covert covers on our bullet proof vests are different from overt ones due to the materials being generally softer, thinner and more breathable. The body armour in this section generally have white covert covers, and as they are more prone to wear they should be worn under clothes to protect the cover from rips etc. Due to this they are usually lighter then an overt cover, and much more breathable which allows for perspiration to leave the body, keeping the user cool.

Our Kevlar ballistic vests have been tested and certified to a specific NIJ Level OR HOSDB (UK Ratings). These tsandards are practically interchangeable and almost identical, the NIJ and HOSDB work together on body armour and their standards. They share their information, and are regarded as the two top standards in the world.

Depending on the protection level required in the body armour, each panel is given a level ranging from HG1a to HG2 (NIJ IIa to IIIa) for bullet proof vests and KR1 to KR2 (NIJ I to II) for stab protection. Beware of bullet proof vests that haven't been certified to NIJ Levels or UK HOSDB levels, and also of body armour that has been constructed using cheaper counterfeit materials in places like China, always buy from a reputable supplier.

All our Kevlar ballistic vests and bullet proof vests comply to the minimum specification developed by the HOSDB (The Home Office Scientific Development Branch). Each panel will come with a protection certificate assuring the panels protection levels.

We only deal with Kevlar® protective panels in our stab vests and our bullet proof vests because Kevlar is the only protective material that has passed the standard of time. Kevlar only degrades by being subject to extreme temperatures and direct UV sunlight, which none of our Kevlar ballistic vests have been exposed to (the UK Police treat their equipment better then any other force in the world).

Dupont (who own Kevlar) say "Ballistic decay without use is unlikely assuming it hasn't been mistreated during storage". With Kevlar the shelf life was considered 'Practically unlimited'.

Our 25 year long relationship with the UK Police agents and suppliers, coupled together with our huge buying power, means we can offer you UNBEATABLE PRICES on a bullet proof vest, which generally retails at a LOT more than what we charge.
