If admin find it difficult to collect information related to customers, Magento 2 Checkout Custom Field (https://bsscommerce.com/magento2-checkout-custom-field.html) is the ideal solution. By adding extra fields to the checkout page, customers will have to submit all required information before checking out successfully.

1. Add custom fields to the checkout page.

2. Create new checkout field of different types (drop-down, multiple select, text area, date & time…).

3. Place newly created field on any step of checkout (shipping or review & payments).
4. Add field value in order grid and order detail.
5. Include additional information in PDF invoice and email.

6. Fill in custom fields when creating order in backend admin.
