The default Magento 2 does not allow admin to delete either invoices or orders from the backend. Hence, you may have trouble loading your sale database as it is loaded with junk information. Delete Order for Magento 2 (http://bsscommerce.com/delete-order-for-magento-2.html) will help you to get a cleaner backend by these following features:
- Easily remove invoices from Sales => Invoices or from Order View page. After Invoices are deleted, order status turns back to Pending (if shipments have not been created) or Processing (if shipments have already created).

- You can also delete orders and all related data by few clicks.

- Clearing Shipments and Credit Memos are easily to do with the same as Invoices.
