Make sure that application travel document is approved before leaving US!
As a US green card holder some travel regulations exists when compared to those of a US citizen who can travel freely. As a lawful permanent resident you would need to present a passport from your home country or if a refugee a application travel document (http://www.uscitizenship.info/uscis-forms/Form-I-131-Application-Travel-Document.jsp) is required to travel to a foreign country. This is apart from what the foreign country requirements such as a visa. In case the continuous residence period is disrupted in between applicant has to wait for 4 years and a day before applying for US citizenship again after returning to US.Green card holders need to take care of duration of trips abroad.

Documentation is one of the major thing which is essential during travel. While you are planning for abroad trip then you need to have an authentic visa and passport. Thank you so much for suggesting through post to be strong with our documentation.
