Title: Contractor Referrals?

I've recently been elected to the board of our Homeowner's Association.  Although I don't officially assume my duties until January, I am trying to find competent contractors to work on upcoming projects/repairs.  While I have used information from organizations such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in the past, I have never used review information from organizations such as Angie's List.  Consequently, I was wondering if anyone associated with this forum has previous experience with these types of organizations.  If so, I would appreciate if you would share your experiences.  Thanks.

Is there a website to find reviews and referrals for a honest trustworthy contractor?
Not talking about the yellow-pages
