Employment Authorization Document and Certificate of Citizenship redesigned by USCIS
In order to strengthen security and combat fraud, an enhanced Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and a redesigned Certificate of Citizenship (Form N-560) with new features have been released by USCIS on October 25, 2011.
The changes are part of the USCIS's ongoing effort to strengthen the integrity of the U.S immigration system. The combination of the state-of-the-art technology and new documents will combat counterfeiting, obstruct tampering and facilitate quick and accurate authentication.
The new EADs have been issued since October 25 and the USCIS will begin to issue the redesigned Form N-560s from October 30. According to the news release, the USCIS expects that the new documents will be issued to more than 1 million people over the next year.
