You can take a helocopter ride to the bottom of the canyon but recently an earthen dam broke and much has been put off limits. The ride down the canyon from AZ side is usually not horses but burros and that is an all day thing up and down. Check tour of the grand canyon (http://explorearizonatours.com/grand-canyon-tours.php)
