Some Tips On Hair Care
« on: May 02, 2011, 02:04:47 AM »
Dandruff is not a disease of the hair, it is simply a condition wherein the scalp is affected causing the white scales of the dead skin to shed faster than usual. Generally, our skin cells do renew themselves by shedding the old ones out of the scalp. This procedure is faster in a person who is suffering from dandruff. Though dandruff is not a serious condition and nor is it contagious, it definitely is embarrassing. Dandruff brings a lot of restrictions on hairstyles and even clothes. One cannot flaunt the sleek black dress due to the fear of dandruff!
Though there are hundreds of anti-dandruff shampoos available in the market, very few of them are actually effective. While some shampoos may work wonders, others may not. Shampoo manufacturers often add certain chemicals to shampoos in order to increase the amount of suds that a shampoo produces or to add a certain scent to a shampoo. When these chemicals are added, a shampoo is no longer all-natural. Still, numerous manufacturers label shampoos "natural" if a product contains one or two natural ingredients. Although, detergent based shampoos will clean the hair and scalp well, they often cause dryness that make the flaking worse.
Whichever shampoo you select, take your time and understand its composition. What you need to be aware of is that, whichever brand you choose, the shampoo and conditioner shouldn't include any synthetic fragrances, artificial colors, and any preservatives. That is why you need natural dandruff shampoo Natural fragrances and essential oils are the main factors that make a shampoo or conditioner truly organic

The following are some basic hair care tips that you can use to improve the health and look of your hair.

General
A healthy lifestyle will mean healthier hair for you. Excessive stress, smoking, not exercising and not eating nutritiously are not healthy for your hair.

Get enough sleep.

Hair Products (Gel, mouse, hair spary...)
Avoid using hair styling products with alcohol which dries out hair.

Avoid puting hair styling products directly on your scalp; if you put it on your scalp you'll clog the pores on your head.

Swimming
Before entering a pool, wet your hair so your hair will soak up the initial water instead of the chlorinated water.

When swimming where a cap to protect your hair from chlorinated water, if you choose not to wear a cap make sure you shampoo and condition your hair right after you are done swimming.

Drying
Hot air can be damaging to your hair so when using a hair dryer use the cool setting.

Don't leave the blowdryer in one spot for more than a few seconds, keep it moving and at a good distance away from your hair.

To speed up the drying process, pat your hair dry with a towell and let the remaining moisture in your hair dry naturally.

Gently use your fingers or a pick to untangle any knots while your hair is drying.

Finasteride is used to cure the hair loss and male-pattern baldness in the men. Generic Propecia contains Finasteride as the active constituent that prevents the hair loss and stimulates the hair growth. Finasteride prevents the formation of dihydrotestosterone from testosterone by inhibiting the enzyme alpha type II reductase.

Hello,
Stay away from shampoos with sulfates. They will completely dry your hair out. Try using a sulfate-free shampoo. Use conditioners with some of the ingredients that I listed above. Natural oils works better than synthetic oils like petroleum. They help to really put the moisture back in your hair and seal it in. This is important to help stop your hair from breaking ( Brittleness). As it becomes more moisturized it will be less prone to breakage.

(You lost a lot of hair because when your hair was in braids, it did not have the ability to shed like it normally would. You lost the hair that you would have shed if your hair had been out and was able to fall freely.)

Use protective styles like twists, buns etc. It will help to seal in the moisture and help you to create some interesting hair styles. Also, there are lots of you tube bloggers with tips on natural hair.

Well washing your hair too much can actually lead, to unmanageable hair. Try not to wash
regularly with shampoo and on the off days, spray some fragrance that is made for just this
occasion. Washing regularly can damage your hair. Apply lemon, juice and olive oil for smooth
and healthy hair.
