Monovision is a method of using one eye for distance vision, and the other eye for near vision. Contact lenses and refractive surgery, and the lens inside the eye and all the methods used to monovision. When the patient chooses a single vision, and the dominant eye, or those that will be used to focus on the camera, it becomes the eye distance and focus the other eye for close vision vision. The single method works because the brain learns to adapt to the eye that you see at any distance. This method is also a form of the concept known as the Vision at the same time. There is usually an adjustment period to adapt to this way of vision. Most patients find that they are able to adapt. Because surgery is a permanent solution, doctors advise that patients try monovision contact lenses first. Disadvantages of single-vision include inaccuracies in the optical correction. Persons who may not need to see the very sharp because of hobby or occupation, may results monovision. Another disadvantage of monovision is that some patients experience decreased perception of depth or lack of clarity of vision in the eye which focuses on near vision in some cases.
